    Hi guys,

    i want to ask you two short questions:

    1) I believe that exporting movies without kompression is more faster than with, am i correct?

    2) I have to create for school (i will study multimediadesign) a mograph film, which is already finished, but the export takes sooooo long! Even my after effect hangs but i see how the outputfilesize is increasing!

    Furthermore you would made me happy, if you could disclose me some secrets of exporting 😉

    thank you guys for your help

    if you have some intense graphics going on in your film, it’s going to take a pretty long time anyway. however, there are some compression types that are slower than others. particularly streaming video and dvd codecs. i have noticed significant increases in compression times when outputting to these formats. there are some things you can do to improve your renders a bit, like hitting caps lock to disable the viewing area and making sure you’re taking full advantage of your multiprocessor. (check that your memory and cache settings are taking full advantage of your multithreading capability) and that you have your multiprocessing switched on. Other than that, hey man, you’re making a motion graphics film, that’s pretty much gonn be the rub

    8(faster) bit or 16 bit color (slower). hdr compressed? uncompressed video codec is fastest, there’s no math to do. linear compression codecs use more processor, like huff. If you have a small hard drive, you don’t have much choice.

    @Immanuel Morales

    thank you for your answer, i really have to do some configuration. I’ve noticed, that my after effects is not using the full ram capacity. I will also turn off the preview…i never thought that this would be resource cutting.

    @Chris Wrighton

    I have a big harddisk and also an external nas..so that would be not the big problem..but it’s good to know, that uncompressed is the fastest. Because i do like to compress videos with Tmpeg.

    Very close to my home, a friend of mine has an internet cafe with 12 PC’s. I will try to create a render farm 😉

    thanks a lot both
