Exporting qiucktime movie from finalcut 3.o
Help please!… I am new to editing. I was given FCP 3.0. I am trying to export a clip to a quicktime movie. I have tried every setting I can think of. The end rerult is audio only with a white screen. I am going crazy! Anyone have any ideas?

Are you playing the video on the same computer that you edited it on? If not that would easily be the issue, you are playing a video made with a codec on a machine that does not have that codec.
Also what version of quicktime are you running and what version of the OS. FCP 3 is an extremely old version (the latest is v6) on so quicktime and OS version will could be issue also.
There are no “technical solutions” to your “artistic problems”.

Thanks for such a quick response. I am using quicktime veiwer 7.0. and OS 10.3.9 I am viewing it on the same computer that I created the quicktime….I have enjoyed learning some of the basics of editing on 3.0, but may need to update to a newer version of FC when I get some money together.

That could be part of the issue. FCP 3 was built to work with quicktime 5. Often using old versions of FCP with newer versions of quicktime can cause issues.
