  • Exporting ntsc anamorphic ends up 4:3. Please help!

    Hello Everyone,

    Can anyone please help?

I have a project. Captured footage NTSC anamorphic widescreen, edited and the exported using FCP quicktime export settings for NTSC anamorphic widescreen. The quicktime file exports, but when I try and drop it into a new NTSC anamorphic timeline, it displays as 4:3 (square).

If I want to make a DVD in Studio Pro (widescreen) and drop the footage into the software, it plays back as perfect widescreen, but not in FCP.

Please can anyone let me know what I am doing wrong?

    Thanks in advance.
    Russ

    Check “Anamorphic” in the Browser.

    Hi Rafael,

Sorry, it’s early here and I figured out what you mean and it has worked! Thank you so much for that.

    Best,
    Russ

    Hi Russ,
    Sorry for coming so late.
    Great you found it.
When you work with Anamorphic footage, you need always to check the Anamorphic column in the Browser. FC have no way to tell the 4×3 from the Anamorphic footage.
    Cheers,
