Hello there! I am having an issue exporting from final cut to mpg2. I need the file to be in this format yet have a .mpg file extention it is for use with a video bin loop from Alcorn McBride. I have tried exporting using compressor and I have tried bringing the file into compressor separately both yieled an audio and a video file. I need one single .mpg. Thank you so much in advance and have a great afternoon.

You need to mux (multiplex or combine) your audio and video tracks into one file and that doesn’t usually happen until you create a DVD with a program like DVD Studio Pro. I would suggest you Google the free program “MPEG Streamclip” and it may allow you to mux your audio/video files into one. MPEG Streamclip is used mainly to demux MPEG2 files for editing purposes, but you may be able to use it to mux tracks as well. Not sure if the program does this but since it’s free it’s worth a look.

I actually posted in the thread that this is for use with a Video BinLoop from Alcon McBride for use in a huge video presentation that will be permanantly placed. The file gets placed on a memory chip. It is not for use with a DVD player. I really need to know of how to convert the file/ Mux it if my computer is having issues making the file from compressor even though I have the checkbox marked to make it one layer file. It works but the file ends up corrupt and wont play. It is all jittery and the sound does the same. We have messed with bit rates and the unit supports up to 15bit rate. The company says its the software we are using but we then tried what they suggested and that didn’t work either. Now I brought the files home and am trying to do it at home. That is turn a .mov into a .mpg for use with a video binloop. I also have to do it to like 30 more clips. Thank you ahead of time any help is much appreciated.
