Hi!! Thanks in advance for your responses.

The thing is that I edited this 1 hour video in Premiere Pro 1.5. I captured the clips from a camera to the PC and opened the project as NTSC 720×480. I saw everything ok at the preview window, but when I exported the final movie (.AVI, 29.97 fps, 720×480, 4:3), it turns out that the video doesn’t cover all the screen, it is smaller than the actual output size. The whole movie ended up like that, except for like 5 seconds at the beginning of the clip. I din’t crop or resize anything, and I haven’t use any filters that I recall…or have I?

Please!! tell me what did I did wrong? How can I fix it? 🙁

    Muchas Gracias!!
    Rose

    Hi Rose,

What screen are you referring to? A TV Screen or a computer Monitor ?

If it’s a computer monitor, it’s normal, and depends on the player you are using.

Hi! The movie seems fine when I play it on the preview window of Premiere, in my PC monitor. But when I burn it and watch it on a TV Screen, it looks smaller. I have seen it in three different Tv sets, with 3 different DVD players. 🙁

    Thanks for your help

Hmmm, all I can think of is that you did somehow crop it…But, could you tell us how you exported it ?

Did you use a third party DVD authoring ?

Did you capture video using Premiere from a DV camcorder via firewire?
Select the clip in the timeline and expand Motion in the Effects Controls Palette…is Position 360,240 and scale 100% and anchor point 360,240?

What were you capturing? DV tape or some other format captured through a analog to digital box?

I know when I capture DVCPRO via a Canopus ADVC-110 I get a black bar along the left and bottom. No I do not have a firewire compatible DVCPRO deck.

As Mike said, a slight zoom may fix your problem without noticable picture degradation. You could even nest your sequence and zoom the whole thing in one go – it needs to render anyway.

    Hey!!

Yes. I captured DV tape from a Panasonic GS 150, via FireWire.
    Position is 360 x 240, scale 100% and anchor point 360 x 240 in ALL clips.
    Actually, I

All right, so… When you right click on the exported file (from your desktop) and click properties > summary, what do you get ?

Are you sure that it does fill your preview window in Premiere? Try zooming out to say 25% (I’ve seen it happen before 😉

Can you try exporting a few minutes to uncompressed and see if the same thing happens in your media player ?

You can try importing it in a new project, but I can’t imagine that it would solve the issue.

BTW, does the image just appear centered with a black border ?
