  • Exporting in Anamorphic?

Posted by Brian Fass on August 28, 2005 at 6:52 pm

Ok here it goes. I solved one problem only to create another. I am able now to view my 16X9 material in the sequnce in the proper aspect ration but when I export to a quicktime file it is not letterboxed and reverts back to the sqeezed 4×3 ratio. How do I export my footage and get the 16×9 aspect ratio. The clips as they are capture in anamorphic are rendered and I put them into a 4X3 sequence they change my setting to 16×9 and it views as correct but does not carry over into the export. What am I doing wrong. I am very close to getting this correct Please help!!

Create a new sequence which is a standard 4:3 sequence. Then drag your 16:9 sequence from the Browser to it, and render, the resulting tape will be letterboxed.

The file is still 720x 480 but streched to give you 16×9. Try exporting 854×480 to give your file the true 16×9 asspect ratio. If you’re real picky 768×480 will correct for square vs rectangular pixels.
