  • Exporting from to a QT7 file with 3+ audio tracks

    Hi,

I’ve recently been put to the task of figuring out the way to get FCP5 to export a QT7, DV25 file with more than 2 tracks of mixed audio. With QT 7, it is my understanding that it can support up to 24 channels of audio. So, does this mean that I can have 6 mono-mixed/stereo tracks of audio?

    Here’s what I’m trying to do….
I work for a new tv network that needs to be able to receive a finished DV25 (standard DV NTSC codec) file from an editor off-site and be able to tweek levels like music vs. voice, etc. If we get a file now, everything has been mixed down to two tracks of audio, and tweeking levels is not possible, without a separate version with, say, music only on it, or split track nats and voice. With the new QT 7, am I able to separate out everything so that I can have voice on 1+2, nats on 3+4 and stereo music on 5+6, all muxed into the QT 7, DV25 file??

    thanks for your help!
    Dave

See Volume IV Chapter 11 of the user’s manual… explains the procedure.
