I have two series cut on FCP-7.03. I have been asked to deliver to a HD channel with the HDTV spec ITU-R BT.709-5. What codec should I use? Does Prores 4.2HQ meet these standards?

“ITU-R BT.709-5” is the HD broadcast standard, as the “CCIR.601″ is the SD.
Export to Prores and keep the signal ‘Broadcast Legal”.
To avoid future problems with your clients:
    – Apply the “Broadcast Safe” with a “Very Conservative” or “Extremely Conservative”.
    – Apply the “RGB Limit” filter to avoid illegal RGB values.
    – Apply the “Proc Amp” filter to clip the under-Blacks.
Or you can pass your movie through Color (set at 32bFP) with the Broadcast Safe filter ON.

Thank you. This helps. But I don’t see any options for “Broadcast Safe” “RGB Limit” or “Proc Amp” in any of the export settings in FCP, or am I missing something?

    Thanks… I’ve figured it out.
