Exporting film as QT with a H.264 codec?
Hi, i’m in desperate need of help as i’m trying to send off to a competition but am a novice with Premiere Pro and struggle with the technical specs of exporting.
I have been told i need to send a copy of my film on a data disc with it as a Quicktime movie with a codec of H.264. The problem is that Premiere pro will not let me set both as setting it to one or the other then come up with different specs in the other section, along with this my footage is 1280×720 but setting it as QT changes the settings to 720×576?
It’s for if it ends up being screen,you can send it as QT uncompressed, Avi or MPEG2.
Using the H.264 codec sets it at MP4 and the size stays correct and the clarity of the image is really crisp but i don’t think MP4 would be suitable for screening, or would it? I really don’t know and any help would be gratefully received!

Choose Quicktime as the format then click on the preset and then in the video tab change the codec to h.264 and make sure your video size, frame rate and data rate is correct (it’s a preset, it doesn’t know your sequence settings). Now you will have h.264 in a Quicktime wrapper (an “.mov” file).

thanks for the reply, the problem i’m having with doing that is that selecting QT automatically sets the preset option to something other than H.264, and if i set the preset to H.264 the format changes automatically to QT, it doesn’t let me select both to work together and the aspect ration fixes on the wrong size automatically as well when trying this, is there some way to over ride this? Sorry i hope that made some amount of sense?
