Exporting files to be used on a PC?
One of my clients needs my DVCPROHD files to be delivered in .M2t to be edited on a PC using Premeire Pro. How could I do this from FCP?

MPEGStreamclip should work, but Premiere should be perfectly capable of editing DVCProHD Quicktime files out of the box.

Their editor claims the files will not work in Premier Pro.
So what HD format can I export directly out of FCP that will be easily usable in Premeir pro?

I know nothing about PCs and Premier. What is clear is that to go from DVCProHD to a .m2t will be a noticeable lose of quality.
You can try Sheer (www.bitjazz.com). Your customer will only need the free player to open it in a PC.

That’s weird, Adobe’s Premiere Pro site says it supports DVCPro HD. Maybe the editor has
an old version that didn’t, CS3 does.

lets just forget about the footage is dvcpro HD. Yes I know Premier Pro can now edit mxf. I just need to know of a format that I can export directly out of FCP that can be ingested into Premier Pro. The footage must stay ” HD” .

On another forum someone mentioned Premiere’s 3.1 update allowing for MXF importing. And this was found elsewhere, saying you need something like this (at$95) to use DVCProHD QTs on a PC. I don’t know if that means you need it with PP or as a stand-alone:

thank you for your help but I cannot send MXF files to the client as they don’t seem to want to work with them at all.
What can I export from FCP that will work in Premeire? Is there no compatability? I just need to export to file and format that is “HD” . I don’t care about preserving the DVCPROHD

So, it looks like a QT, (or a high bit-rate MPEG2) but can you give them a giant UC QT file on a drive, or do you need to compress it?

Sheer: Uncompress 8/10b, YCbCr/RGB, 422/444, always with Alpha available.
Files are the half of the Apple equivalent. Works perfect in Mac and PC.
You need to pay the codec, but your client only need the free reader to work with it.
