  • Exporting custom metadata views?

Perhaps I’m missing something easy here, but I have yet to figure out how to export a custom metadata view (and also custom metadata fields) so that I can use the same view on multiple Macs and/or in multiple user accounts.

In other words, let’s say I make a custom metadata view called “Production” where I put a few standard fields and also a few custom fields like maybe “Director” and “DP” and “Lighting Kit”. Now, I want to use this same view on another Mac. How do I get that metadata view setting from the first Mac to another one?

I’ve looked through .plist files but can’t seem to find where this info is stored. Any help is appreciated!

According to Larry Jordan, custom metadata fields (and probably custom views) are stored in the Event database. So if you copy the event to another computer, you should have access to those views and fields.
