Exporting Blank Quicktime
So I’m going through the Apple Certified Training Manual for Motion 3, and I am trying to follow the instruction about “freezing layers” which is the process of exporting certain layers into a single quicktime file and then immediately importing them back into the project to reduce RAM requirements. I’m exporting a “Lossless + Alpha Movie” and in the “After Export” dropdown menu I am selecting “Import into project.” When the new quicktime is imported back into my Layers tab it is just a quicktime of black space. This is driving me crazy. I’m following the Manual’s directions perfectly. Help.

I’m not a 100% sure what you’re asking, if your asking why there is no alpha channel and just black you need to set the “Compressor” setting to Animation. Then click on the Advanced button and set the Depth to Millions of Colors +. Hope this helps.
