  • exporting a progressive file from lower field dominance clips

    hi folks,
i’m writing you in order to finally understand how to obtein a progressive file (to put on the web) from a lower field sequence of clips..
i tried many but i still didn’t get the point..should i start setting the sequence to NONE then just exporting to NONE, or should i leave the sequence settings to LOWER and than exporting to NONE..should i use the DEINTERLACE filter to all clips?
xcuse me, bit confused but i keep having “fields” appearing in my final exports.

    faithfully
    gabriele

    Hi Gabriele,
You need to set your sequence as “NONE”, and apply a de-interlacer filter in the interlaced video.
    Avoid the default FC de-interlacer.

    tnax rafael,
i’ve heard the fc deinterlacer is not that much..so I should use a specific plug in/effect for that? is that right to send the NONE sequence to compressor and that there apply the de-interlace method? is that a right way?
    tnx rafael

[gabriele gismondi] “is that right to send the NONE sequence to compressor and that there apply the de-interlace method?”
That would be horrible. Your sequence would be rendered as Progressive but with interlaced material in.
Would be wrongly rendered and without solution. Post de-interlace wouldn’t fix nothing.

    You have two option;
    – Do as we said before: NONE sequence and de-interlacer filter.
    – Work in an interlaced sequence and after exporting, de-interlace with any application (Compressor, MPGStreamclip,..)

Both options will work, but the first is better mostly if you are adding any animated graphic, transitions (dissolves), etc. Those won’t look as good after de-interlacing.
    Go Progressive from the beginning.
For de-interlacing the two best options for FC are Re-Vision FieldsKit or the Nattress filters.
