  • Exporting a compound clip loses audio and grows to 1 hour too long

Hello all – I used the tips I found on here to create a custom timeline at 1280×800 (video comes from screen captures). I duplicated my video clip and edited it directly, adding voiceover, callouts, effects, images, etc., for a total length of about 2.5 minutes.

There is no project, as far as I can tell; all my editing has been done on the compound clip located in the event.

Now that I’m done I try to export it, and the finished product has no audio, and it also takes super long to render because it appears to try and create a 1-hour long project. I’ve verified that nothing appears in the timeline following my 2.5 minutes of stuff; if I slide the timeline progress bar to the end of my clip it takes me to 2.5 minutes, not to an hour. I’ve tried various types of exports (Compressor, MP4, even YouTube) and tried having different things selected when initiating the export. Same results every time. Can anyone suggest a fix? I can trim the extra length with QT Pro but I need the audio in there.
