Exported Resolution Bad
I’ve recently exported 2 projects to DVD and the resolution fades in and out when played on a TV. Hard to explain without seeing it. Looks good, then pixelated-back and forth-with consistentcy. They are somewhat long: 1:40 and 2 hrs. I’m exporting using a modified preset: NTSC 4×3 High Quality 4MB VBR 2 Pass (Max Bitrate) . I assumed this would be best for compression. I’ve always used this setting-no problems. Actually the overall res just isn’t that good. Is it just too much compression?
I have a dual layer drive. Should I use a dual layer DVD with a CBR setting? I’ve never had to use one (dual).
Notes: Plays fine from timeline on Sony external monitor. This leads me to believe it’s in the compression. Verbatim DVD. I’ve exported the chopped clips to one rendered AVI file, switched out the audio with a master WAVE file and exported that way, still wavering res-looks blockish at times. Great edits/poor res. What setting do you guys use for footage over an hour?
Thanks!
