Exported Audio tunnel sound
I’m using an older version of Final Cut, I exported my movie as a quick time movie and an MP4 and with both the spoken audio sounds like a megaphone/tunnel. I have separate audio tracks with music that do not have this problem. The only difference is that they are aif instead of the spoken track aiff, but it seems these file types are the same.

You may have phase problems or have one track off by just one frame.

How would I isolate the problem and solve it?

It only happens as an export, you don’t hear the problem when playing off the timeline? What’s the audio monitoring setup in your suite like?

Yes, only on the export not in the timeline. I’m not sure what you mean by audio monitoring setup, the output is just the internal speakers.

how are you making the file?
i think that somewhere along the way, your stereo tracks are being converted to mono.
of course you cant guarantee that anyone who listens to the file will be set up to monitor in stereo,
so you need to fix the problem in FCP.in FCP can start by panning your clips to the centre.
select all your dialogue clips and Control . (full stop)
leave your music aloneaccording to my theory you should now hear the tunnel effect,
so you need to mute one or other track of your dialogue clips.nick
