  • Export Vegas file (.veg) to DVD Architect

    Hi

I just installed the trials for both Vegas and Architect.
I thought I would easily be able to export the created Vegas project between the two Sony projects. I guess I’m missing something.

Architect does not recognize the .veg file

I think I am supposed to Render As but that got very fuzzy. It kept creating another .veg file and without the audio. I tried to render the audio separately but that did not work out.

Please help with detailed steps. Thanks!

The .veg file is just for use in Vegas. It tells Vegas how to put together your project.

To export you need to “render as”.

If you are going to DVDA to make a DVD you should “render as Main Concept MPEYG2 DVDAcompliant video stream (video only() and a second rendering as AC3 audio. Save both of these files in the same folder and with the same name (xxxx.mpg and xxx.ac3). Then when you drag or import the .mpg file into DVDA the audio will follow automatically. The reason for rendering to MPEG2 in Vegas is for more control.

    Thanks for your response!

Differentiating the saved project file and the saved/rendered video was the answer!

Also, it was a little confusing about the custom templates but I was able to successfully export to Architect and burn a DVD.

Now I just have to figure out why my DVD didn’t play 5.1 surround sound.

Did you set your Vegas program to do 5.1? Just cause it is AC3 doesn’t mean it is 5.1!
