Export To Tape
Yesterday I encountered a problem with Premier Pro. I have been successfully exporting video to a JVC HR-DVS3U VCR, using a 1394 cable from the video card, for about three months. All of a sudden when I go to “Export” the “Export To Tape” command is grayed out. I looked through all of my resources and have come up with nothing. I’m wondering if it might be the video card. Any thoughts?

Make sure that the timeline window has the focus. Just click on the top bar of the timeline window and try again.

Export to tape may not be available if Premiere is not configured with “DV Device Control” (Edit>Preferences>Device Control>Devices)
OR
if Window’s cannot “see” your external deck (Device Manager> Imaging devices). Bad firewire card/cable/deck firewire controller.
