I have a simple animation in AE5 with a still image and a path with the stroke effect animating along the path. Apparently, the Stroke effect needs to be rasterized to be converted to swf causing the file to be huge, instead of what should be a very small file.

Is there a different way to achieve this effect that is more “flash friendly”? The path crosses over itself in one part so a simple wipe-on with a solid object won’t work.

I’m sure this is easy to achieve in the Flash app itself (which I have) but I don’t know how to use it.

    Oops! CS5.
I think I still have the version 5 box in a closet somewhere though!

Yeah, I’ll probably have to make the line in Illustrator and animate a map to reveal it.

…or should I even bother with Flash as Mr Jobs seems to want to kill it! 🙂
