    Hi all –

I need to export a one-hour show to H.264. It was recommended I use Quick Time stand-alone to do this. The person recommending this only uses Macs, and wasn’t able to explain for PC.

I am editing in APP – if I upgrade Quick Time to the Pro version, will Adobe recognize it?

We tried exporting using the built-in Quick Time settings and the H.264 codec in APP, the encoding machine crashed multiple times.

    PC, 2.6 processor, quad-core, 8Gbs RAM. CS4 bundle.

Was there an error message generated at the time of the crash?

Even if you did not get a window before Premiere shut down, you can probably go to Administrative Tools->Event Viewer (at least under XP) and see messages relating to the crash. That might help narrow down the source of the problem. You don’t need QuickTime Pro if you are encoding within Premiere/Media Encoder, but for the price it’s good to have for other reasons.
