export to 16:9 from 720×480 – certain specs
Hi.
I have a project that needs exported to the following specs and cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to do it (I’m a fairly new FCP user):
1024×576
72 dpi
RGB
MPEG-1 (.m1v)I have tried adding the slug at the beginning but cannot figure out how to edit the frame size to the spec required. Is that the answer or is there another component I can use? I have tried Compressor and cannot find those specific settings when choosing MPEG-1.

You can’t do this with final cut or compressor. FCS does not support any custom sizes for mpeg 1….only the standard size which is much much smaller. Search the archive for suggestions on 3rd party encoders

your request (sorry to say) makes no much sense.
The standard size of MPG-1 is only 352×240.
As David points is YUV.1024×576 is the frame of PAL SD Anamorphic when build with Square pixels.[Sandra Widmann] “I have tried Compressor and cannot find those specific settings when choosing MPEG-1. “
Compressor can make only Standard MPG-1.
You can use ffmpgx to make one no-standard.

Thank you all for posting. I ended up exporting out of FCP and importing into AE creating the required frame size. I used the extra space just as a black background but could have done anything with it. Found out the company could take any mpeg format instead of what the Client told us.
