[cahaba] “Is H.264 fastest/best option for export?”

Fastest, no. Best quality, probably (depending on your settings). What type of computer do you have? Do you have a capture card? What size of files does the client want (how much space are they expecting to take up)?

If you have a capture card, you might be able to capture straight to H264 using FCP or maybe even QT Pro or iChat. That would save quite a bit of time.

part of the problem is working thru a third party who has client
I have dual 2 ghz powerPC G5 1.5ghz ddr sdram- no capture card (coming thru firewire)

I can’t imagine they would want all these huge files- I’m trying photo jpeg (digitize & export) but I haven’t used it before so I don’t know limitations for end user

Try using QT Pro or QT Broadcaster to see if you can digitize from FW directly to a manageable file.
