    Hi there,

I’m having this problem recently which I can’t understand and drive me mad!

The 1920×1080 export from FCP comes up stretch!! as the SD anamorphic/non anamorphic issue but it’s all in HD and it can’t be possible!

If I play the export on VLC it does fix it but preview and quick time play it as an 1920×1080 sequence stretched!!
    How is that possible?

I do have different raw file (but all HD or HDV)
    1920×1080 apple pro ress
    1920×1080 XDCAM EX 1080p25
    1440×1080 HDV1080i50
    few clip on 720×576 dvpal

    Timeline setting
    1440×1080 aspect ratio HD(1440×1080) 16:9
    pixel aspect ratio HD (1440×1080)
    field dominance None
    frame 25
    compressor apple pro res 422(HQ)

the export comes up in 1920×1080 but stretch.
    what I’m doing wrong?!
here a snap shot with some info

    thanks for your help!

Looks like you’re exporting out a HDV sequence. HDV has a different PAR (pixel aspect ratio) then 1920×1080 HD and different from 720×576 PAL. That’s probably why your stuff is looking stretched. The PAR is wrong, given that you setup your timeline as a HDV sequence.

I would recommend transcoding your footage to one common format. Either 1080HD or DVPAL depending on your output and needs.

    Other options:
    — Change your timeline settings to a standard 1920×1080, square pixel aspect. This will require you to readjust the HDV and PAL clips on your timeline (possibly scale them to fit).
    — Change your export settings to do the conversion to 1080HD
