    Gday peeps,
Am I going crazy, or is this webpage incorrect about the appropriate format for making a master from Prem Pro? To summarise he says that the best master is in the native camera codec (e.g. P2 or AVCHD, etc).

    https://crookedpathfilms.com/blog/2010/03/30/adobe-premiere-pro-what-are-the-best-export-settings/

I commented on the post with a correction that a master would be more appropriate in uncompressed AVI or ProRes or such as a less compressed file, but the blog owner emailed me and told me I was wrong and that now because Premiere can edit in native that it is much better to export natively.

    Is this true?

    Thanks peeps.
    🙂

Hey John, thanks for the correction, and the post was updated. Intermediates or uncompressed should be used. Originally I had put that in some case to save space, the option would be to export a p2 movie back to p2. I removed that part to avoid confusion. I wouldn’t tell someone to export a master back to avchd though. That’s not possible in Premiere anyway.

Actually you can make an avchd file if you wanted to.
Make a BluRay folder and rip the m2ts file from the stream.
