July 18, 2010 at 2:15 pmI want to be able to use the use the mask like a matte in FCP. I would use a matte but I want a more detailed matte.
does that help?

July 18, 2010 at 3:21 pmWhy not just send the clip you want to mask to Motion and do it there?
But if you really want to do it the hard way, you could use a shape instead of a mask, then import your Motion project, place it over your clip in FCP, and use a Travel Matte Alpha blend mode.
