Given an HDV sequence (1440×1080) with HDV video (PAR 1.33)

I want my final output to be DV AVI Widescreen. However this has a PAR of 1.2.

Thus, a direct export from the HDV sequence yields a nice looking AVI with thin black lines on the right and left side.

There is no way to adjust the dimensions of a DV AVI in media encoder.
In other export formats I can adjust the dimensions to, say 705×480 which is the correct size for this export.

Should I simply create a custom export setting?

Changing the PAR in Premiere using “interpret footage” does not fix the issue, since I am still on a HDV sequence – thus i can change the PAR of the footage but not the sequence.

    Thanks for your help.

The only way to ‘fix’ this is to crop off 13 pixel top and bottom in the export settings.
