Export clean DV AVI file
We just bought “Caption Maker” for a program we are doing. It is supposed to allow us to save a DV AVI file of the project, import it into Caption Maker, add the captions and then export the completed project as an AVI file with Captions intact. In test runs using raw footage it works great and Premier easily handles the captions when exported to tape or whatever as long as I don’t do anything that forces a render.
Our problem is that Caption Maker will not read the DV AVI files exported directly from Premier 1.5. It will read raw captured footage and it will easily read the project if I burn it to tape and re-capture but that defeats the purpose of having it in the first place. I’m assuming that Premier is adding extras to the file which interferes with Caption Maker. Caption maker only reads clean DV AVI files. I have unchcked all the embedding options, chapter markers, etc. So far its still getting hung up. All I need is a clean DV AVI file like the original captured footage. Any ideas would be appreciated.
The Caption Maker crew is working on a solution and even installed Premier Pro on their system to duplicate the problem but I figured nobody knew Premier like you guys so I’m hoping you can help.
Thanks,
R Summerfield
