Export audio mix to Automatic Duck
I’m trying to export my rough audio mix of an 80-minute documentary from FCP to my audio post house that uses Pro Tools. The problem with OMF is it doesn’t give them my mix so they invested in Automatic Duck with the idea that i could delete the video from the timeline and just send them the audio tracks. Media Manager is trying to send all the video too, which is way to big a file for them. Picture is locked and I have copied the timeline to a new job but I hesitate to delete the video as obviously I need it.
The only work around I can think of is to make the media offline in the new job and then recapture audio only as new clips but that’s a long job.
I need to get this done pronto as we are taking the doc on tour end of this month with our first cinema showing May 28!!!!
Any ideas welcome.

It’s you that needs to invest in Automatic Duck. You need Pro Export FCP 3.0

You export the OMF with embedded audio information, then they import the OMF ready to go. If they need visual reference, then you send them a smaller low res, full frame rate quicktime with window burn tc (such as a sorenson movie or similar) so they can see what they are mixing.

I’ve found a solution by exporting audio to OMF and then also sending a copy of the job file without media.
Audio post can then open the off line job file in FCP and copy my mix to the Pro Tools session with my OMF media files.
