EXPORT A MODEL FROM AFTER EFFECTS TO PROMODELER
!!HELP!!!
I am an OTIS grad student-novice user who managed
to layer map a scaling cloud image on my chrome 3d
logo made in Zaxwerks Invigorator using one of John
Dickenson’s tutorials. I am in a real desperate
situation since that animation frame grab has to
become a high resolution image for a lightjet print
for a charity CHRISTIES auction at Creative Artists
Agency in Beverly Hills this week
(www.angelart2006.org). I have to deliver my
Photoshop file to the color house Tuesday Nov. 5th AM.
I can’t seem to reproduce the same EXACT layermap
with promodeler (The animation was created over a year
ago and I just don’t remember the lighting and other
settings I used). Does anybody know how to Export my
Invigorator model from After Effects to my Promodeler
with the Layer map in place? Or for that matter have
any other suggestions or work arounds?S. A.

Hello S. A.
If you have your original After Effects scene, you can open it
and render a high-res image by changing the size of your Comp
and rendering a single image to a Photoshop file. AE can handle this quite well.Do you have your original AE scene?

I DO have my scene. Could you walk me through the
rendering of a high res frame out of the AE scene?Thanks

One way to do it…
Change the comp size to the resolution you want. Go to Composition>Composition settings to do that.
Change the solid to which Invigorator is applied to “comp size.” Select the solid Layer>Solid Settings> Make Comp size.
Then: Comp> Save File As>Photoshop Layers.
You can then further up-scale the file and perform other adjustments in Photoshop if you want.
