Hi there- I’ve been doing video editing for the past two years and have done a lot of traditional pieces (interviews, commercials). I would really like to start producing more creative and experimental videos but I’m lacking the know how as to what tools to use and how to use them.

Here is an example of a video that I’m very curious as to how you would begin to achieve these effects: https://vimeo.com/m/68399181 – Chvrches, Gun

Can these effects be done entirely in premiere? Any one that has insight as to how this sort of thing is done and would be interested in talking, I’d greatly appreciate your help. I have these colors and distortions in my head but don’t know how to translate them to an edit.

    Thanks!

    Flashback!

But seriously, you’d need to also use After Effects along with some plug-ins such as Boris Continuum and/or Genarts Sapphire or maybe others. So no, not all are really possible directly in Premiere Pro, but with Dynamic Link between the two it would be much easier than those effects were in the 60’s.
