  • Expanding Slider Counts Beyond 1000000 in After Effects Expressions

    Hello fellow After Effects enthusiasts,

I am currently working on a video project that involves showcasing social media metrics such as views and likes as part of a case study for a video campaign. However, I’ve encountered a limitation with the slider control in After Effects expressions, as it maxes out at 1000000. Considering the scale of some social media campaigns, I need to find a way to represent higher counts.

I was wondering if any of you knowledgeable folks could guide me on how to extend the slider counts beyond 1000000 using expressions in After Effects. My goal is to accurately visualize larger view and like counts without compromising on precision.

Your assistance in solving this challenge would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance for your expertise and insights.

    Best regards,

    Khalil

Hi Khalil, the easiest fix is to use point -controls instead of sliders, they have a different floating point implementation. (And they could hold 2 values at the same time)

If you must use sliders, you could switch to expressing the numbers as thousands or millions and multiply *1000 or *1000000 in your expression as there is no way around changing the actual limit of the slider control.
