  Existing FCP 7 project to Premiere Pro

  Contemplating moving an existing project from FCP 7 to PPro and I have a couple of questions. First off, it’s a multicam project and while PPro says it can import uncollapsed multiclips from FCP 7, I’m wondering if anyone has first hand experience with it.

  Premiere Pro converts uncollapsed Final Cut Pro Multiclips, with as many as four inputs, to Multi-camera sequences. Premiere Pro converts collapsed Multiclips to individual clips.

  Second, and this is probably a bigger problem, the project was shot in XDCAM HD and imported (via Log and Transfer) into FCP as ProRes Proxy with the intent of uprezing it later once the edit was locked. I’m wondering if there is anyway to keep working with the PR Proxy files in PPro and then relink to the XDCAM HD camera masters down the line.
