Exception::AUTO_COMP_NO_SYNC
Here’s a weird one. I’m working on a show that is shooting 3 to 5 cameras, and 2 field audio recorders. The two field recorders are designated Recorder A and B, and are intended to be synced up to Camera A and B.
Since the timecode sync between the audio recorders and the cameras is not perfect, I’ve been syncing my production audio to the cameras by setting in points and Auto Sync. In the process, I’m only Auto Syncing the 2 mixdown channels from the recorders so that my editors don’t have to deal with 9 tracks of audio.
Once everything is in sync, I’ve been syncing all cameras together and creating multi groups. The first day of footage worked flawlessly, but I’m now getting an error AUTO_COMP_NO_SYNC. Once I’ve assigned auxiliary timecode to all my sub clips to create my multi group, this is the error I’m receiving. I’ve noticed that if I match back from the AutoSync sub clips and only multi group the camera angles, I can multi group fine, but once I involve the auto sync sub clips, Avid throws up this error. Obviously I want to provide my editors with sync field audio. Has anybody ran into this issue?
