  Exception: Failed to initialize Audio hardware

  Hi – I installed Avid MC 3.0 on MacBook Pro 2.53 GHz Intel OS 10.5.8
  Upon start up I get the message:
  “Exception: Failed to initialize Audio hardware”
  I tried to uninstall/re-install, and trashed Digidesign prefs to no avail.
  Avid’s knowledge base was …. unilluminating.
  I would appreciate any advice.
