I’m confused about how to get the ex3 files to work in fcp. I’ve looked through previous posts, but something isn’t clicking in my brain

I have a drive with the ex3 media on it.

    I just downloaded Clip Browser.

Can someone walk me through what I need to do to edit the footage in FCP? And output in SD.

Also, I need to copy the EX3 footage from one drive to another.

    Thanks

You need to download Sony XDCAM Transfer program that transfers the native camera file to one that FCP can import.

    ClipBrowser copies clips.
XDCAM Transfer will re-wrap them as MOV
Also you can dowlnoad XDCAM Plugin which will allow you to use Log & Transfer in FCP to re-wrap to MOV.

In either case you point to the parent holding the BPAV folder and not the individual clips.
