Hello All, My coworker is in Costa Rica shooting a doc. Over the past two days he’s been in humid conditions, doing his best to keep the camera dry with third party rain cover. Today, in a deluge, the dreaded MAINTENANCE word appeared in the viewfinder. Went to dry place, turned camera off for one hour. Again, MAINTENANCE in viewfinder. He’s going on four hours now, still getting MAINTENANCE.

Of course, there’s probably a humidity problem. I’ve advised him to open every port, remove the lens, and use a hair dryer to try to chase away any humidity. When that fails, does anyone have any thoughts? He’s in a remote location, four hours from San Jose. Is there a repair facility there? Or is there a rental outfit?

Tough situation for a camera but any advice appreciated. Best, gg.
