EX3- any point in SDI ‘live’ capture instead of recording?

If i hook up to blackmagic card via SDI and capture clips directly, without first storing them on the machine. Would i get a ‘higher-quality, uncompressed direct from the lens, quality?” Instead of to card, compressed?

    Sure.
    10 Uncompress.
But you need a very-very fat Raid system to capture that.
Files are some 25 folds bigger.
You can record as well Prores or High Data rate MPEG-2 too.
Much smaller files and your eyes won’t tell the difference.
