We are shooting 1920×1080 on the ex1, once we have edited it, can we just do a print to video in final cut and pop it onto a minidv tape? And will it keep its quality?

When you downsize the EX-1 footage the quality is amazing. But in the moment to go to DV you know that will be compressed a lot. If you print to Digital Betacam, your picture will look like being shot in that format. If you print to DV will look like being shoot with a better camera than a MiniDV, but you won’t be able to scape the DV look: Blockiness.

No … at best you could down sample to 1440×1080 25Mbs CBR (HDV) and then layoff as such to a suitable HDV deck
