Ex1 Sluggish Playback on PP4 is Killing me
I am running Premiere Pro CS4 on my PC
Main board: MercuryPI945GZD
Processor : Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2160 @ 1.80GHz
Ram : 2GB DDR2
VGA : Nvidia GeForce 9500GT (1GB)
Hard Disk : 500GB (ST3500418AS)
Windows : Xp Service Pack2 (32bit)
The Problem is that SD DV footage works fine but when i import Ex1 footage into PPro4 it doesn’t give me smooth playback.It plays fine for few seconds and then starts jumping etc.What i want to know is “Does my system meet requirements for editing Ex1?” if it does then what step i am missing to get better performance or do i really need to buy a new machine ?I’ve also tried editing Canon 5D footage there is no difference (slowwwww plaback). -

I have heard of this, however I don’t run a PC and I own CS4 but never use PP4. I do have a friend who told me that switching to Windows 7 cleared his play back problem. I think you need to ask the guys here in the Adobe Premier Pro forum
