  • EX1 SDI 1080 output always interlaced?

Posted by Navarro Parker on January 7, 2010 at 7:58 pm

I have my EX1 set to 1080P/24. When it records to the SxS cards, the resulting Quicktimes say they are 24p. And visually, they are not interlaced.

However, using a new Decklink SDI (which supports 1080/24P & 24PfS), I’m unable to see video.

So have you heard any problems if the EX1 outputs true 1080p via SDI? I can only get an interlaced SDI output when in 1080p mode.

At first, I thought 1080p would be too much for a single link SDI connect. But at 4:2:2 1080/24p, it squeaks under the threshold for single link SDI.

The output is PsF (Progressive Segmented Frame). It appears as an interlace signal, but within the interlace signal you have progressive frames. This is normal for 1080P OVER HDSDI
