    Hello,

PC Premiere guy here with a MAC Final Cut question. I have been hired last-minute on a project that is being cut on FCP. The DP walked off set and I was hired in his place. The footage he shot was w/ an HVX200. I am now continuing on with my PMW-EX1. Can XDCAM files and P2 Card files (whatever they might be), be mixed in the same project in FCP if the format and frame rates match? Thanks a lot.

Yes they can, but I like making them all sing the same tune, and that tune should be ProRes 4:2:2. I think you can import them as such using that codec, then you’ll save time rendering while you edit. (because you won’t have to render just to see full res playback during the cut itself). You can just mix them in a sequence, but I’d be editing it away from the material which contains a GOP structure (the EX-1 footage). Sure makes life easier if it’s all an i-frame format like ProRes.
