I am going to be purchasing an ex1 and needed some help figuring out my storage situation. Are the macgurus burly drive compatible with the new caldigit raid card. If they are, I was thinking I could get a 2tb Burly, which is basically just the price of drives and a couple hundred dollars more for the enclosure. They are pretty cheap, but their website does not say anything about raid 1,3,5, or 6, but could I use the burly along with the raid card, which would give me real hardware raid for cheaper than anywhere I have seen. I this really possible? I hope that there is not a key point I a missing.
    Anyway, thanks for the help!

    best regards,
    Mark

I’m going to recommend you contact Syed at http://www.maxupgrades.com, he is the guru of storage. Real HD performance at affordable prices. I have purchased several solutions from Syed over the past three years and none of them have ever failed. I only recommend products and companies that I trust. If you really want to know about hardware raid solutions call http://www.maxupgrades.com. and ask for SYED.

    Good Luck

I’ve asked questions to MacGurus here. The RAID configuration depends on the number of drives, the PCI card used, and what you want.
