Ex1 and Phu-60 ?
Hi,
I’ve just bought an ex1 and have a phu-60 drive on order. With some research I’m wondering if I should change my order to cards…
1. It seems the ex-3 is better suited to the drive. How will it sit on the front shoe? will it block buttons? Will it change the balance adversely?
2. How will the drive plug into the ex1 SxS slot without keeping the door open? Is it different on the ex3 ?
3. People seem to be having problems with the drive (see post below).
Any thoughts? Experience?

I don’t know about the door but I believe you’ll need to update the EX1 firmware to version 1.11 to handle the drive. I believe the firmware update is $100 (it’s not free!) in addition to the cost of shipping, insurance, downtime. You’d think Sony would offer a modified door to match the EX3 but I haven’t heard anything like that yet either.
