Any suggestions for a quick and easy way to create an export with timecode and audio for transcriptions?
One option using the XD transfer program is to select all the clips to a timeline, then export through FCP.
Another is to export from the XDcam browser as a wmv but I don’t get timecode.
The transcription service needs the TC and the audio – picture isn’t important — and I’d like the file small enough to quickly e mail.
This brave new world is giving me a headache.

I’ve been mulling over this too. I can’t say there’s a quick and easy way yet but I do know what I’d like.

It would be a compression app in which you could string the source clips together and create a “window” time code burn encode.

You might be thinking of a time code track but only certain codecs support that. In addition it’s very easy to miss a break in the time and that could be very frequent using EX source.
