All my settings are correct, everything looks fine. I hit Capture and then the entire system crashes (not just windows) and the system starts booting up. I’m running Avid 4.05 now and Avid 3.0 worked just fine on my system. My system is recognizing my deck and the Firewire drive. Other than this capture problem, everything runs just fine.

Mac? Windows? Do your specs meet the requirements for Avid 4.0? They are different than what 3.0 required…

    Here’s my specs:
Windows XP Pro, service pack 3, Media Composer 4.05, Intel Core I7 CPU 920 @ 2.67 Ghz, 4 gigs ram, Graphics card ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT (ran composer 3 just fine)

What happens is that everything works… I can even open capture and play the video in order to cue it up. Everything looks great, for that reason I don’t think it’s my “unqualified” capture card. But the moment I hit capture to record, the entire system crashes.
