Event Same Day Editing sound setup
Hello,
I hope that somebody can give me an advise. I need to do same day editing for the Wedding, but the only place where I can put a screen is about 70′ away from the DJ. I don’t have my own speaker, so I always use DJ’s equipment running RCA from the DVD player audio out, but I heard that if I pass 20′ with RCA cables, it would start picking up RF interference. Is it true? Is there another alternative to moving closer to the DJ board? I.e. wireless? Thanks!!!! -

That’s not always the case. You may not pick up RF or hum, but you COULD.
To diminish this, convert the UNbalanced RCA output to BALANCED using a transformer* at your end, and send it to the DJ’s audio board over a balanced mic cable.

This is one, you’d need to adapt the RCA to the 1/4″ phone plug for this unit.Or, (better yet) send your RCA audio into a small active mixer** that has a balanced output.
