Evaluating the quality of video… the criteria?
I’m a PHOTOSHOP user from way back, but am a newbie at video.
Specifically, I would like to know more about how to evaluate the relative quality of a video image.
As I encode using different codecs (and codec configurations), I’ll get all manner of results… Some are a little more THIS, some are a little more THAT…
I want to learn to evaluate the quality of the videos I’m getting. I’m not talking the more artistic elements, such as Composition; rather, I’m thinking about the more superficial qualities, such as good blacks, good whites, good motion following, artifacts, noise, etc.
Is there a good resource online that camn help me to attune my eye to these characteristics?
Thanks, DAVID
