I have the newest form of the MacBook Pro with the latest updates for Leopard and have been reading things on the eSata cards available for ExpressCard 34 slots, which my Mac has. I’ve read that some work, some don’t. However, it was suggested to me in an Apple forum that I can also use a firewire ExpressCard 34 card for capturing. Has anyone had any problems within Mac OS X with these cards?

My current setup is camera to FW400, and then computer to FW400 hard drive. I have an HDV camera and want to start working with the HDV format – with that being said, will a FW400 ExpressCArd 34 device work for SD and HDV capturing, or will the eSata card work better?

    Thanks
