eSATA drives and SxS cards to Macbook Pro
I’m trying to figure out how to set up a new macbook Pro ( NON RETINA) for esata media drives and to download SxS cards.
question #1
Is it stable to run an eSATA media drives into the Newer Tech eSATA to USB 3.0 adapters (@$30) and then run those into a USB3 hub like a D Link? The purpose of the hub would be to not monopolize the only 2 USB ports I’ll have on the computer.
I figure the other ports would have stuff like printer, mouse, scanner etc. Could I run 2 eSATA drives through the USB 3.0 hub?Question #2 Does the Sony SxS card reader (USB) work on Mountain Lion in the latest computers?
(I could get the Sonnet Echo to Thunderbolt adapter but it has no loop out for Thunderbolt so i would have to disconnect my 24″ Dell ext monitor.)
