Errors Importing HDV into FCP X

Recently I’ve been getting errors importing HDV footage from a Sony Z5U into FCP X. When I select Import From Camera, I then select Create Archive, which is stored on a separate (3rd) 2TB drive. What I am seeing is the random break up of clips other than at the stop/start detection points. I believe this may have started with the 10.0.5 update. As part of my troubleshooting, I tried iMovie as it uses the same stop/start detection. Import from HDV worked fine in iMovie, then I can import the project. No, I never use iMovie. Alternatively, I could go back to FCP 7 for ingest.

Any thoughts?
